can someone please tell me if and were the hose routing diagrams are in parts and illustration cd are? i have the cd i bought from hitman but cannot find it, i might be over looking it somewhere. thanks
-
Up to 1980 they were in the manual and radiator support sticker.
1981 was only on the sticker, not in the manual.
What year is yours?
Joe

I find them in the service manual...engine section, under emissions.
-

yes, thanks for the help.

'78 models with 403 Olds didn't have one either.

Sure they did. They had the sticker on the radiator support and the diagram is also in the service manual
-
Yep, 1978 would have had them (a sticker on the support). But your's
could have been removed by accident. All second gen 'birds had them.
It's just that 1981 did not have a "copy" of the diagram in the Service
manual.

Or is it just that they don't make the repro sticker to suit 78? Never seen one or therefore on a restored 403 78??
-
They may not repo the sticker.
-
Hold that thought...Classic have one listed, however NPD, Ames, FbodyWarehouse, and many others I looked up only list '77 or '79 models with 403, I'll look into it.
cheers!
-
Got my 403 emissions sticker from Ames. Use the one for 1979 automatic cars, they have the 403 Olds, manual's got the Pontiac 400.
-
Classic does list the 78 403 decal. It's listed as "HY" which I believe is the 50 state decal (California Emissions). I don't believe they carried this decal a few years ago.

thats because i dont think theres a lot of 78 403 cars......just like they came factory in 77 or 78 with the olds 350.....thats another hard one to see
-
Thanks, I saw the one from Classic. Not sure what the differences are but its the original 78 carb so should match up. Must be fairly recent, it always seems to be missing from other catalogues.

can the EFE-CV and the EFE valve still be found? and the TVS switch , is that the one in the air cleaner ? and the TVS goes in the head?
-
EFE....good luck. Sometimes they come up on ebay. TVS switch goes into the air cleaner. EVE-CV is just a check valve and can be found. The TVS still can be found....PM John007 he just bought one and had a hard time getting the right one. The thread sizes can be different.

Or try these guys, they might have it.

I looked there. in the search it only lets you pick the 6.6 (K) not the (Z)
-
I had this one in my 79 plugging a hole. I swapped it for a brass plug and put it in the 77. all I need now is the switch in the front of the intake.

all I need to find now is the correct rubber tubing.
-
Try Corvette sites for the correct striped vacuum lines. I'm trying to figure that one out right now too. Some were yellow, others pink, and some were green stripes.

Weren't the colours simply different inner diameters, to make it easy to ID on the production line or whatever?
