Cost of a paint job
« on: January 31, 2006, 10:19:38 PM »
Approximately how much does it cost to have a 77 TA repainted?  Not necessarily a show paint job, but a very nice one?

Also, any ideas on buying a car in Canada.  Is there any kind of tariff for bringing it into the US?

A guy painted mine in his garage, w/ application of decals and minor body work for $1500, but that was a steal. If you want a decent one, and there isnt much body work, you're talking around $2,000-$3000

Show Quality is such a braod term, but I can do an great paint job for the $3500 (no flaws or anything), I can do a awesome deep paint job for $5500, and I can do a jaw dropper for $9500.

yes, that is just dust.  Chicago is not bad... only about 5 hours or so away.

It's not a big deal to drive to Ohio and fly home.  You can get a flight for a few hundred dollars.  Then fly in and pick up your car and drive it home.  For me, it would be about a three day drive.

Or, Brett can put you up in his house for the couple of months he takes to paint it.

Do the kids know their way around a toolbox yet???  I might take you up on that offer. I could use the dependants and the extra pair of hands in the shop would save me from crawling out from under the cars and fetching tools
