08/02 VA Beach Cruise-In Pics
« on: August 03, 2008, 02:33:46 AM »
Well I don't make it over to Virginia Beach very often due to the tunnel traffic (you won't understand if you've never lived here) but I headed over this Saturday night to check out a local cruise scene that I'd heard a lot about but never actually experienced.  Saw some really nice cars, but you have got to check out this awesome convertible Firebird that belongs to a Navy officer; the pictures do absolutely no justice for this car.....and that 494ci Pontiac V8 was incredible!

Nice looking rides. :)

A 494ci Pontiac V8 in a 68 Firebird...don't see that too often. That Navy officer isn't messing around.  Not what I would do to a Firebird, but it's good to see something different.

Thanks for the pics.

I believe I heard him say something to someone else about it coming from Butler Performance, but not sure.  I also heard him say the word "Avenger" and something about "an aftermarket Pontiac motor".

And you figure that how, exactly?

Thank you Angela, Rick (et al).  I always have a great time going to car shows and local cruise-ins, you might say it's my passion.  I'd love to get a digital SLR and take photography classes, but it's still hard to get good pictures with cars bunched up next to each other and people crowding around them.

I wish I could have got up to Northern Virginia for Summer Thunder 2008, but had commitments Saturday.  I'm wondering if any of you Northern Virginia/Maryland folks went to it?  It was a nice show last year.
