!!!!!!Check this 74 T/A out!!!!!!!
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:49:29 PM »
This is the 74 Trans am I have been mentioning to some of you on here. This guy sold the old owner of my car the motor thats in it now. He came over today to help me with my trans am and figure out why it was not running properly. I guess as it turns out ALL the valves were tightened down way too far by the old owner and he said his guess would be that since the car sat for a year that the piston rings are not expanding out like they should due to them being froze in their spot from setting. Which is causing the smoke. He said it happened to his when his sat for three years. He said to get some rislone ring treatment. Car runs alot better now though. Anyways. Here are some pictures of his car and I think one of him working on mine. He took me for a spin and OH MY GOD. That thing is freakin fast. I guess the blower helps. He is pushing over 600hp.Thanks for looking.

I couldnt believe how fast it was. It just kept pulling and pulling. He has two 650's setting on that thing. There was so much horsepower it made the car just seem so light. I'm not used to that at all. When I got out I was all smiles and my legs felt weak. LOL.Adrenaline rush for sure.

  Yeah. He is very OCD about things. Its cool because he took one of the sail panel birds on put it on his fan shroud(not the decal ones) and then on the inside of his hood right where your head would be if you were looking at the motor it says"size does matter" on another emblem. The interior is awesome too. He doesnt have back seats though. He built a little thing back there in their place. It's just a sweet sweet ride.

Not going far with that fuel cell. ;D
I may have to think about a blower setup.
Too bad it's all hidden.
I like race cars...on the street. ;)

He says he gets ok gas mileage. Around 12-14 mpg
what do you mean by all hidden? Because it's not sticking out of the hood? He drives it every clear day. He said he doesnt want leaves to get in it.

The fuel cell cant hold much fuel.how does he drive it on the street?
It's a great car,I bet it sounds great.
Just a shame to keep all that hardware under a hood.
I thought filling my bike up a few times a day was a chore.

Anyone know any good books on building a blown Pontiac motor?
Every time I see one,I start thinking...
What the hell am I waiting for.
I have no other obligations.
If I don't build one now,I'll never build one. ::) ::) ::)
