So what is the correct Carb number for a 78 trans am?

I was looking online and there were a bunch of different ones that I saw. I assumed that was showing me what the interchangable ones were...

Is 17057262 the orginal or 17057263 the orginal....

Thanks

The fifth digit is the year.  So both carburetors you listed are for a 1977 T/A.  The standard 400 and the 403 got  650 cfm units, while the W72 got a 800 cfm unit.

The site Eagle provided has all the part numbers.  Part number 17058266, which would be correct for your car if you had the W72 engine, is very hard to find.  However, it should be a bolt on to a standard 400 engine.
