Pics in need of expert review!
« on: January 02, 2013, 11:44:05 PM »
According to a colored wiring schematic I found on this site, the yellow, grey and black wires go to the radio.  If this is the case where do the wires coming out of the radio compartment go?  Also, anyone have an idea on the green and brown plug near the master cylinder?  I’ve located the wiper motor and pump plugs, but still have this one.  It comes out of the firewall in a separate harness with the cruise control feed.  Last but not least, the two brown wires leading into the single white plug under the dash.  This has power with the key and is stationed near a green plugged wire, which I believe is the rear defrost.  I could really use everyone’s help.

Have you checked out this page:

Probably more than you ever wanted to know about the wiring in these cars. Don't forget to check out the second page as well as it includes a bunch of accessories ;D

I've pretty much got everything figured out except for the second pic from the top (radio compartment).  Anyone have an idea where these go?

well, the blower is already hooked up and functioning.  This car doesn't have a rear defrost that I know of......  I'm at a total loss.

It would appear you're correct.  according to a schematic I found those plugs are for the rear defrost and heat delay.  I guess all harnesses come equipped even if the car doesn't.  Now if I can figure out what the plug under the hood goes to and get my wipers lined out I'll be finished with the wiring.

I'm thinking that the one wire you have left by the master goes to the cruise control unit that would mount on the drivers wheel well.

There's only one plug that goes to the cruise, right?  I'm thinking it's the one shaped like a "T" for lackof a better term.  The plug in question is flat.  Are there three sets of plugs that go to the wiper motor/pump?  I don't have pump yet, so I have nothing to reference.

Rick,

According to the link I posted, in your 2nd picture the single wire is a Heater power feed. The multiple connector with orange & purple wires is a rear window defrost relay. The other multiple connector *might* be your radio. Looks like it should have a black/yellow/pink wire connector. Which looks like you got the info already ;)

That connector(brown and green engine compartment) is the one discussed in the PM. Goes to the wiper motor...   :D

I really appreciate the help guys.  I've almost got this wiring thing complete!  All I have left now is to figure out why my dome light is hot even with the doors close and I'll be finished. lol

Thanks again!
