1978 Trans Am
« on: May 20, 2009, 04:48:00 PM »
My father and I bought a 78 T/A for my first car in 2005. Four years later I am almost 16 and still restoring this car it is rougher that we thought. But it is my favorite car since I seen Smokey and the Bandit. It was in a barn when we found it sittin in mud up to the rockers. Hood off of it sitting beside, on top of the motor was a 80's top hat to a blower. Oringinally silver with red graphics and rally II wheels, and 400 Big block. The restoration is going good, the whole car is stripped down and I am painting back all orginal with a few things done to the 400 I think it is out of a 73 model Pontiac not for sure what model just know the year.
Here are some pics of the 78 Trans Am (my first car),and a 1981 Firebird I bought for 300 and stripped all the good parts. They are a few pics I drew the one is what the 78 is going to look like when done and the othe 'YES" that is a Van Halen Trans Am I drew and thought about painting one like that eventually.

Thank u to 79WS6resto for fixing the links
I love the looks of the silver and red cars better than the black and gold, nothing wrong with black and gold cars just see to many of them.

The black one with red interior was my first car and I bought that blue Firebird last year and stripped it and crushed the rest. The drawings the one is a silver n red car but color doesnt show up in my scanner and the Van Halen car is a idea I had and I want to do a pro touring car with that paint job.

Cool. As far as parts go, and I don't know if anyone has told you, but the places to check are Classic Industries, National Parts Depot, Ames Performance, and Hitman's store.

Yeah I have check every place imaginable some places are to exspensive for my budget. I talked to yetti and I am going to try to but a car from him hopefully i get the rest of the cash i have half the other half shouldnt take to long to get a hold of. I hope, the money deal is the only thing keeping my car from getting done real fast. I'm usually broke, or spent the money on another project which is a habit.

You've got artistic talent - you should hone that in art/architect school.  Consider 3D CAD, animation and simulation tools ... tie that in with Photoshop, Premiere and you'll be doing digital media production in no time.

Oh yeah, cars need major work but there are a ton of talented enthusiasts here to guide you on direction and comment on things.  You'll get there.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I would like to be a desinger of new cars, or just one for a living like Chip Foose or the guy from Orange County Choppers. My mom actually works at a printing shop and they have a bunch of things I could use to do all the stuff like photoshop and animation etc.
