Yes, sounds like it's the switch at fault; but you might consider some further testing to be sure.

what kind of testing exactly, are floor dimmers the same for 67-79, or did they change year to year in design?

I guess the tests involve jumper cables?, anyway I looked it up on autozone and switch is cheap and easy to change, thank god for easiness, But, on the lights, do the outside lights go out when brights are activated?

Well, that's hard to say without checking for power coming from the switch. Does the blue indicator on the dash come on?

What Larry is asking about is the high beam indicator on the dash -- it comes on to let you know your brights are on.

Yep, it's the blue light at the top of the speedometer on my 75...imagine it's the same place in other years.

I never seen no blue light, I can't go check now, its 25 degrees and Im charging my battery, I have to move it and it just won't start, stupid cold

Just know that it's there
...the bulb that illuminates it may be burned out but there is a small rectangular
bar
at the top of the speedo that lights
blue
when your
brights
are on.
