Anyone used a good zinc cold galvanizing spray
« on: March 14, 2011, 09:21:20 PM »
Ok so I am about to rebuild my hurst shifter, rods and plates. The original coating for the shifter and plates look to be zinc (Thanks Doug) I researched it more and it looks to me that the shade should be a darker gray zinc. The zinc coating I have been finding seem to be more light gray. I did use a product made by tempo that seems to be darker gray and very close to the proper color, but I am about out and it is no longer made.I was wondering if anyone has used a cold galvanizing spray that looks close to the original zinc covered parts.

Why not just get them re plated ? If you need that much correct on it then that would be the proper way

I think that is probably what I will do.I have to have some chrome plating done anyway.
