A/C clutch belt

So the clutch on the compressor is crooked and the belt is half gone. I can just take off th belt and have no problems right? Other than no a/c that is.
Sorry for the complete new guy question, I'm still learning.

Not sure what engine, but yes, usually the belt is just for the compressor. Just make sure you still have other belts running alternator and water pump and then simply cut the old belt off.
