$1,750 is a pretty good deal but the lack of numbers matching engine really kills the deal. Even if the guy offered to sell it for $1,000 I wouldn't be too interested.

Or I could buy it and... drop in a LS1

i suppose atleast the body of the car is a y88. you could just get the same year motor and stuff.

Not a good deal.  I paid $2,800 for my Y88...numbers matching no rust except the front floor pans where the kick panels leaked.  Otherwise it's solid.  You're much better off buying one without rust.  Even without rust there's a ton of money to get these cars back to pristine condition.  Rust only adds to the problems and cost.  But I think everyone knows how I feel about rust!!!!

There was a numbers matching clean Y88 that sold on e-bay recently for $1,700. Just needed lower rear quarters rust-wise.
