Post by: greyno3 on May 08, 2007, 04:22:10 AM: A buddy of mine picked this up for 4500.00. He sent me these pics. Haven't had a chance to check it out. Has SE graphics but it might be a regular W72/4-speed with 65k miles.

Even if it's a regular T/A W72 4-speed, They made about 8,ooo of them I think. Wouldn't it sat Y81 or something on the trim tag for a special edition?

Post by: CoolBird on May 12, 2007, 11:01:13 PM: I think you will find out that this is a 78 instead of a 77, judging from the fisher t-tops and the interior. The Y82 will not appear in the Vin or on the cowl plate. Phs, build sheet or original window sticker are the only ways of deternining a Special Edition car. Are the factory door stickers still on the driverside door? If they are, these will give you the month and year of the car and help you determine whether it is a WS6, providing it is a 78.

Lets see. I paid more than what I did with my first one in 1977, but 2/3rds less than a frame off restoration!!
