I need to have my driveshaft checked out. It came apart and messed up the floors from the preveous owner. Dont want my new floors messed up. My question is do I need to take out the u-joints and yolk when I take it to them.

I would take it all better to have everything that could be the problem with you. i know it will be more of a pain but you will get the exact answer to your problem with all the pieces to the puzzle infront of you.

And how did you take it to them with or without the u-joints?

i mean if money is a problem then do it without takin them out and i guess just go by process of elimination. if you put it back together and it runs fine then your all set, however if it doesn't then you know the problem is with the u joints

Well, try thinking of it this way -- how much are you willing to pay to make sure that doesn't happen again, this time to you?

U-joints are about the cheapest investment you can make in a car. Unless you personally know that they are new, buy new ones when you install the shaft.

Doesn't matter. You can remove them or they will. I doubt they would charge just to pop out a couple of U-joints. They don't need the universals in the driveshaft though.
