that was without the edelbrock performer intake though, i'm hoping that once i get it together, i can get it dyno'd with no accessories, then with accessories, then put it in the car, and get it at the rear wheels...
i'm switching out my th350 for my stage 3 200-4r and the 2.41 with the 3.42

i'm hoping i can get it to at least 350 to the rear wheels, if not, in 2 months i'm buying some edelbrock aluminum heads for 2100, and I'm sure i'll be well over 400 with that.. i'm running the 6x 8 on it now, and with that it was 395 hp, so like i said, i know those aluminum ones will be over 400 hp

Yeah the guy was tellin me back then they rated cars without any accessories and so my car was 220hp but in the car it was prob only about 160.  so he said my motor would prob put out about 350 out of the car. i just don't know what i can do to add power besides stroking it. idk how you got more power out of your car using 6x heads then i did running my #62 heads.  kinda agrivating because i put so much into my motor i was hoping for around 350 in the car.  i mean how much more would a cam help? i have a pretty much stock cam from comp cams.

I'm running a E-980-P I believe off the top of my head

stock cam specs = stock motor horsepower

I went from a stock cam to a mild cam in my 403 and the increase was incredible with power

Also, I don't run AC and I'm probably going to switch over to an electric water pump so I can free up more horsepower that way too....

how do i know what cam i should have in my car. i thought the guy was hooking me up with a good cam but then at this place the guy was like jeese your cam is super mild.

the only thing that i can say is pull it..
there has to be a way to figure it out without pulling it though, something to do with a number somewhere on it...

but... since you already know that you cam is weak, i would get a new one and pull it out, switch it, and then try to figure out what you had, or not... cause you should have a better one anyways.. for me, i wanted a cam that would give me some lobey idle but have a really good power curve for the street

yeah thats what im looking for. i actually know what cam i have now. i was wondering what cam i should get. i want something that will do exactly what you want. a little lobey but mainly for the street. id like to take my car to the track some day, but its not going to be a regular there. just once of twice.  the cam i got is as followed

what do you think i should do. i don't want too much static compression cuz i have 72cc heads, with stock heads, bored .30 over and a holley 650 double pumper.

your specs on that cam is just a tad under what i got
i have a higher duration at .006 mark, a little bit higher at .050, and my lobe lift on my exh is about .015 higher

i guess i can be a bigger help once i find out how my motor runs with this cam i have

other then that, i'm sure there are a lot more people on here that could give you a better idea, but my 2 cents would be looking for a cam with just a few thousands higher then the one you got now and look for a higher lobe on your exh side

that's about as much i can safely say just because thats where abouts my cam is at

what kind of work did you get done on your heads?

well they were recdone by indian adventures and he put stainless valves and aftermarket springs, they have been ported a little bit. they are 72cc with 2.11 and 1.77 valves. i was thinking about putting roller rockers on my car would that require a different cam or can i use the same one, cuz i might just wait untill i put the roller rockers on.

thanks for all the help.  ill have to do a little research and try and firgure out better what these cam specs really mean, but not this week i got finals comming up and im el screwedo.
