Title: 1979 TA with a 1978 Nose AND Taillights? (Craigslist ad - not my car)

So I just found this ad:

I was instantly confused as it was listed as a '79, but had a 77/78 nose.  Then I saw it also has '78 taillights.  Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't it take some extensive modifications to put '77/'78 tail lights on a '79 and up?  And why would you do it?  To me, something is just not right here....or i'm just being overly suspicious.
