Horn wiring problem with new steering wheel
« on: June 07, 2019, 01:01:48 AM »
I am changing the steering wheel with  a Grant part #771 signature series . Wondering if anyone has run across the issue with the horn wiring. The factory TA wheel/horn setup has no wire going from the horn button to the spring. The adapter kit that is "designed" for this car just has a single black wire that has an electrical blade on one end, that connects to the horn button and is just a bare wire on the other end. I believe that normally if the car has the wire factory, it has some sort of a brass type contact on the end that contacts the spring.
I added a couple pics of the parts I am working with if it helps. I am not really good with electrical stuff.
If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. Had great luck here in the past. TIA!

Was your original wheel tired and worn out? Not many choose to change the best looking wheel on these cars.

I couldn't agree more. Mine is worn out. Cost to replace is too high. Plus I want a thicker diameter wheel.

For sure. That's fair enough.
