Is anyone aware if its possible and/or where to look to find out the exact date/dates your trans am was produced? I have the build sheet, window sticker repro, and a bunch of stuff from PHS that came with the car when i bought it. Thanks for the help

Yes the PHS documents should tell you. You should have gotten a sales sheet that says when the car was built and where it was initially shipped to for sale.

or look on the cowl tag. It'll at least tell you the month and what week of the month.

Ive got the sales sheet and it does show the date the car was shipped, but nothin more specific about production. Ill have the check the cowl. Thanks

Hitman has a section on this sight on how to decode the tag.

The production date is on the build sheet in box number 10 which is located in the upper left hand corner under SCHED NO. DATE. It will be the lower 4 digit number, example 03-07 (March 7th)

If you check out this page, it shows an example of the build sheet. It is the top left hand bax that has your build date of the car. Since I had your car before, your cowl plate says 04A which means it was built the first week of April. I also have a copy of your build sheet, and in the top left hand corner of your build sheet, it say 04-07. So, your car was built on April 7th of 1978.
