T-top restoration

I know that glass shops can polish out scratches that aren't too deep,

And Hitman can bring back the luster and shine to the metal.

Is there a place or a method that can put the tint (regular, gold, or mirrored) back to show quality?

I'm talking about where the t-top sits on the weatherstripping, and the weatherstripping rubs the tint off.  It leaves a ring around the glass.  Or how about any scratches in the tint.

Would it be more cost effective to restore the tops compared to buying a show quality set (taking out a loan for a second mortgage)?

I haven't heard of anyone restoring the tint.  I've been looking myself for a while.

That is one thing that GM actually did right back then.... that tint is actually acid etched onto that glass.  I have tried (and some professional shops have tried) to get that tinting removed from the glass with no luck.  That is why when you find a set of t-tops with no wear on the tint they are worth alot more money because that tinting cannot be removed/replaced.

haha so then it seems that they didnt do it right!!
would putting a sheet of tint be the same?
