I would look at pictures of the Yearone Bandit ,they did just that .  But I believe they made a new bezel though, and I found they looked smaller than factory

Not mine, but here's a pic in a thread at TAC. BTW, these are already sold.

Interesting link Kevin. Kinda pricey though when you buy the complete guage package. Almost $1k ???

I know Logikfive did this with a stock gauge bezel. I'll see if he'll pop in with some input too.

Yeah I wouldnt do it all at once I'd do a little at a time til I had all my gauges etc. No way Id buy the whole thing at once, Id get the blank black panel and just get a gauge or two at a time.

Here is a shot of mine. It's the new Yearone bezel they made for the BRE car. The two outer holes are made for round A/C vents but I put gauges in them since I'm not running air. It is a different look than most. It has the factory cutout for the A/C controls. You have to adapt the wipers & headlight switch's. Overall it was a nice piece from yearone.

1968 Firebird (wifes) Project on hold till mine is done

Nice cluster Chet.

Cecil, here's a link to remove the bezel.  Buy gages after you've measured.

I am doing that to mine right now.  I am in the process of rebuilding my engine right now so thought while I had things ripped apart I would take on the challenge.  I am using AutoMeter Phantom gauges.  I am going to run all new wires for the gauges because I do not want to cut up my existing wiring harness.  I think they are going to look awesome with my white car.

You can put 2 1/16 gauges in the small holes in the existing face plate but if you are wanting to put the 5" tach and speedo you are going to need to in large those holes.   I have all the gauges except the speedo.  I am trying to decide if I want the electric or mechanical gauge.  The electric looks much better, I think, but is a whole lot more and you have to buy the sensor which keeps on adding costs.

Here are a couple pictures I have found on the internet.  Don't know whose cars they are but they do have aftermarket gauges in a TA. Sorry there are so many but they have helped me out a lot trying to work on mine.

Here is a link to a guy who did a write up on how he did it.  I would do a lot of thinks different but he does give you a starting point.

I hope all this helps!!
