After 22 years...it was time ('77)
« on: October 12, 2012, 02:52:11 PM »
Hey everyone...I've been a lurker here for quite a while and I've gotten some pretty good tips over the last year while working on my old baby. I bought the car when I was 19 in 1984, drove it for 6 years...then my twin daughters came and messed up all my fun. I tucked the car in my moms garage and it sat there until June of last year.  Back then, I was in a local club that did a lot of auto crossing, and some serious (yet stupid) top end runs up I-87 in NY. I needed more HP for the $$ I had and ended up with a 454- which did what I needed. Regret getting rid of the stock 400 now though. Now if I can figure out how to embed pictures from photobucket- I'll put 'em up here.

It's not quite finished....but it's come quite a ways in 1 year.

Some specs... 454 with 11:1 pistons, comp cams 292/550 cam, Iron case -wide ratio Super T10, .323 gears. 2" primary headers with 3" stainless exhaust with X pipe. Solid frame mounts (lowered equally), adjustable anti sway bars (Rancho!- lol) 255/40 18's up front, 275/40 18's in back rolling on American racing 18x9 wheels.

A little noise after the exhaust was installed. This was prolly the 3rd time the engine had been run.
