Alarm | How to connect to existing Power Door Locks ? ?
« on: June 10, 2016, 05:03:05 PM »
Hello
How to connect to Power Door Locks to alarm?

Alarm is Autopage RF-425lcd but most wire up the same.
Unit seems to have a built in relay
i can post a link to install doc PDF, if that is ok?

I see the wires in D/S kick panel,
do i cut them, or are they tapped in to?
Seems all i can find online are generic instructions for newer cars.
I know how to work on cars and electrical basics, just need to know
Specifically how to hook up the relay wires to the car harness.

The 4 wires i believe i need to connect to are;
Lt Blue; Lock Actuator wire
Black; Lock Actuator wire
Black with Yellow; Unlock Switch wire
Lt Blue with Black; Lock switch wire
correct?

But to cut and connect or tap in to?
Think i know how to wire up the relay but best to get info from someone who actually installed on a T/A

Thanks.
Yes, my Trans-Am has a Chevy V8, it was built by GM that way for California, is it a Trans-Maro? ;) Still better than a Camaro ))

Correct, no idea. But generally from what I've seen is that the old power lock solenoids are updated to newer low draw units that are designed to work with alarms and remotes. Mine doesn't have Power locks from factory but am looking to add the Modo system, when the $ conversion rate improves.
