Thanks for the info....the QT units look nice, though my only experience has been with Lakewood. Great build!

Car is back at the shop. looks good. replacing a section of the rear frame rail. Just need to to finish welding the replacement section and them I will Raptor line the underside and trunk of the car followed by Lizard Skin on the interior. Will be using SEM hotrod black for the dash, cowl and firewall sections. Hopefully that will all get done this month.

Frame rail is fixed along with final floor patch above rail.

started assembling the subframe.
Control arms have all Global West components. Not to bad to install. Needed to increase the diameter of the one UCA hole as they are different sizes from the factory. It would be wise to have some paint handy to tough up the bushings after pressing them as the nice blue anodized coating will scrap off.

Engine and trans scheduled to be installed Tuesday and the underside of the car sprayed over the weekend.

Pics to follow

Frame rail fix
Rotted portion removed. Never knew the extent of the rot, but its gone now.

Sacrificed a nice complete rail, at least the rear of it is useable

Trim and fit

Welded up

Prepped and ready to be covered

New floor section

Sealed and ready for Lizard Skin interior sound and heat transfer coating

Now that the rust is all gone, we can begin on the fun stuff

Installing Global West Del-a-Lum bushings. Careful to note that the GW bushings are all the same diameter and the upper control arms will need one hole to be enlarged or the bushing will not press in period. Also nice to have some paint the same color of the blue andonization handy as you will scrape it off. Make sure to line up the grease fittings so they can be accessed w/ a grease gun. Failure to do so will result in premature wear of the bushings.

All parts here on in are either plated, powder coated or stainless.
Subframe

Suspension goodies

Installed

Drive line

Assembled & Mated. Needed to get the pressure plate bolts thus the clutch was not installed at the time of pics, but the trans was test fitted to assume proper trouble free alignment.

Need to build trans cross member and wait for extended slave cyl bleed line to arrive along w/ transmission wiring.

Next up, undercoating, interior coating and firewall paint….

A good bit of work has been completed since last posting. Underside is sprayed with rubberized undercoating and Lizard Skin has been spayed on the inside. Firewall  cowl sprayed with Hot Rod black.
Suspension, all plumbing and assembled subframe installed to body. Car once again rolls. Front sheet metal is hung for initial fitment. Car has been sent to Schmeave’s house so he can sand the jams and once over the body before it goes in for paint.  Some changes have been made to the original plan so stay tuned.

CO#1 Road race oil pan.

Looks like a car again..sort of…

Body is blocked with 100 grit and is officially in paint jail.  Should be released late fall / early winter.

Picked up some 18" Rushforth Nighttrains for the car. Matte black with polished hardware will look nice against the Mopar Toxic Orange paint. Added some flake to the paint for an added 'pop'.

door & hood - I didn't like the original door that was selected so another one was found. Jail is fine combing the hood and door to prep for the HOK epoxy sealer.

Some progress shots. Body spray with epoxy primer / sealer and blocked followed by Toxic Orange (2010 Challenger) in Dupont chromabase Base/ Clear. Needs to be wet sanded & buffed. Car is planned to back at my place with sheet metal hung. From there, the mechanicals and electrics will be finished and the car hopefully moving on its  own by year’s end / early ’13.

Sealer

Paint

Cool effect of adding some fine flakes to the mix. Tough to see w/ camera but looks awesome in person.

After the car arrived form paint jail, assembly of body bolt –ons began along with the laying out the electrical systems. We will be integrating the following into the factory harness:
Twin Electric fans w/ controller
Keyless door and trunk entry
Relayed door locks and windows
Modern Stereo
T56 Transmission
Remote battery in trunk
ECU power for future EFI
Electric fuel pump for future EFI
Adding a relay/ fuse box for fans, ecu, Fuel pump, A/C, & head lights
Electric Speedometer

An updated wiring diagram will be made as well. I do my best to keep wiring codes similar to the factory for easy diagnosis and identification. (Pink- Ign Hot, Red – Bat hot, Orange – Fused Hot, ect)  Tracer wire & gauges then go to individual components.  All this and try to keep it looking factory. Takes a good bit of planning and time, but worth the effort when it all works.

Beginning of the electrical adventure

Above is all nicely loomed and finalized.

A plan for the car to come to life again before year’s end was set. Not one to fall short, not only did it come back to life, it moved on its own.  Sounds really good w/ straight headers. Pushed like this are good as you find all the little things needed to complete the project/ system.

Car is back over at paint jail to take care of a few things and is expected to return early February. Some minor electrical items will be addressed along with installation of dash and finalizing the mechanical components.  Glass and Exhaust will follow. I don’t see why this car should not be road worthy by spring time.

Some shots outside & w/ Rushforth 18” Night trains wrapped in Nittos

Looks awesome! I love the color. Is looks somewhat similar to the last car you did.

I have a couple quick questions and I apologize if they have been covered already. Will you be using a hydraulic or mechanical clutch linkage? If hydraulic what kind of setup will be using for master? And does that bell housing allow for mechanical clutch? it looks like it has a plate for the clutch fork pivot.

Also is that the viper T56? What will you be doing for the speedometer? And finally how much further back is the shifter from a muncie or ST-10?
