VIN LOCATION

i couldn't find thru search so is the vin # on the block visible without removing timing cover?

The VIN on the block should be visible right below the gasket surface on the passenger side cylinder head bank on the front of the engine.  You don't have to remove anything beside grease and stuff to see it.

Sometimes it didn't get stamped in very well.  I could only make out all but two of the numbers on mine.  I don't even remember finding it again after I painted the engine.

maybe that's the problem,too much paint it's been a while since i painted it and all the vin matching talk got me curious about my #'s i'll take a closer look,thanks ya'll
