AC Temps
« on: July 28, 2013, 07:01:29 PM »
Hello
Another AC question
How cold can you get these systems to?
My system is not completely stock, I have a rotary compressor that uses 134A
Today in MIami 85-90+ humid I can get mine to about 60, ( I have a temp gauge in the driver-side vent) where it fluctuates slightly whether Im stopped or going.
Im not expecting to get it down like a newer car, our Camry gets to high 40's in the worst of our heat here, but it would be nice!
Any tricks or other things I can do to get the temps any lower?

Stock R6 comp w/ R12 - 42-44 deg
R6 w/ 134a cov will depend if the condenser was replaced w/ new unit and compressor design for 134.  - Should be able to hit upper 40's. IF system was not FULLY cleaned of R12 oil, then you WILL have isses.
Sanden w/ 134 - 40's

Well, after prolonged rides I can get mine to about 50, maybe a tad under. In the Miami heat in stop and go, it stays about 60. Most EVERYTHING is brand new on the system. To get it really cold, I have to stay moving.

sounds like your charge is low or you need a fan setup the pulls a greater volume of air.

Yes - I think thats it- My fan only works on the second setting. Still blows OK on that- will get that fixed and see what happens
