Dumb question, but how long is a 1979 Trans Am?
« on: March 12, 2010, 12:32:43 PM »
Hey everyone...

I searched, but couldn't find any answers. I've been house shooping with my fiance, and I finally have an opportunity to have my own place to wrench on my cars!!! I'm looking at a house tomorrow that has a garage, but it looks a little shallow in the pictures that I've seen. Does anyone know how long a 1979-81 Trans Am is? If the car doesn't fit, then I need to keep looking!  :o :D Thanks in advance!!!

Yeah, I would've measured them, but they are both in hibernation for the winter. :-[

Thanks though! I would have forgotten anyway to measure the width with the doors open and everything.  8) I can't wait to have my own place to wrench on these cars out of the weather.

That's great your getting a place to store and work on your T/A's it makes it so much easier to work. When we bought this place the 1st thing I did was build a 24X48 shop (I wish I would have gone 60) without a good shop up here in MN 6 months of the year would be wasted in regards to working on Veh's.
But Hey...Thats just Me..I could be Wrong

This place has a oversized one car garage. I have to measure it tomorrow when I go there. My fiance went and she said I could easily fit the car in there and work on it no problem, but her idea of a decent size garage and my idea of a decent size garage might be different, lol. I just want enough room in there so I could get one it inside and work on it without having to be a contortionist. As a bonus, I may be able to store one car at my parents' house for a while so things aren't cramped.
