I think the brown is a great color. I had one many moons ago and wish I still had it. You are right that too many people get hung up on black T/As. Now I have a solar gold 79 4 spd that I would never think of changing the color of. I like the look of something a little different and it stands out from the crowd.

Welcome to 78TA.com, hdebo!  I noticed this is your first post -- pull up a chair and tell us more about your car! :) :)

By the time this car was made, most people got the hood bird.  I ordered my 75 TA in February 1975, and in the early 70s more people didn't get them because they were buying TAs more for the performance and less for the style.  I caught a ration of crap from my buddies because I ordered AC on my car.  AC added weight (the enemy of performance) and didn't make it go any faster.  However, that was about the only extra weight-adding thing I got -- otherwise, no radio, no power windows, no power door locks, no T-tops (weren't even offered then), and no hood bird.  That was $55 extra I didn't have, and since it didn't add to performance I left it off. :-\ ;)

Don't encourage her...she's on suspension ;)

I vote for the bird, too...it could be removed later if you start worrying about originality. ;D
