Brand new OER reproduction complete dash specifically for 1970-77 Firebird and Trans Am models. (Can be used on 78-81 see below) Includes correct ABS injection molded backing with foam inserts and injection molded vinyl in correct grain material. Every detail is painstakingly recreated to ensure originality in fit and authenticity in appearance. Each dash pad can be installed as original and mounts to the dash panel using existing hardware. Available in black only. Paint to desired color using vinyl dye also can be provide for extra charge.
Important: This reproduction dash pad is manufactured to accommodate the 1970-77 original Firebird/Trans Am audio units and includes a 2" opening unlike the 1977-81 models that include a 2 1/2" opening. GM modified the dash pad in 1978 to accommodate a radio that included radio stem knobs that were narrower than the 1970-77 models. Trans Am Specialties of Florida offers original style, in-dash radios if you are installing the dash pad on a 1978-81 model. If purchasing this dash pad for a 1978-81 model, the 1970-77 reproduction in dash radios will fit without modification. This also applies to other later model audio units including 8-track systems that require a 2 1/2" opening. Due to variations in Firebird and Trans Am models between 1970-81, the fit of the dash pad may vary at the pillar post area. Some vehicles will have a tighter fit, while others may have slight gaps between the pillar post and dashpad areas.
