No worrys.I am like a sponge trying to learn about these cars. I dont really care if it is a true se or a clone as for putting my vin# on the internet I am a little wery of it.But I might just get the phs or maybe i can put some of the vin on?

Hi nobrains,

I am jealous - i wanted that car.
But I never made it out to Montreal to look at it but i did talk to the guy selling quite a bit email and phone.
(I'm in Ontario, and was looking for a TA as well at the time)

He was a nice guy, and seemed very honest.
I don't know how much info he gave you but he told me.

That it didnt have the correct decals on the car, said it was from a 79 - painted in 83
and it was a US car, (maybe needed to know for aquiring paperwork)
The motor in it (when i talked to him) is a 1972 400ci

But I didn't care if it was a true SE or not, from the pics I got it was one clean TA and I wanted it.
Just logistically and $$ speaking, it wasn't meant to be.

Yup Frank was a real nice guy and i love the car fun so far everything he told me so far was true and i was was just wondering the story behind the car

well i see it was a true ta built in norwood ohio and it was a w72 400 car. could very well be a real se you should get the phs if so slowly put her to her former glory decal wise and you'll have a he L L of a car.

Thanks man it dosent really matter if it is or not .would be nice .lol this is my first TA and I am quite impressed by this car so far

I said "it was a w72 car"
this was from indication of the Z in the vin.

yes hammer I forgive you it was a w72 and then it was removed and a 72 was put in. funny as mine was the same thing (block only) but i have a 73 400 block in mine.

I agree it's a very nice car regardless of what a buildsheet or PHS says (SE or not).

A "Z" in the VIN merely indicates a Pontiac 400...not necessarily a W72 400.
