window regulator and trans swap
« on: February 02, 2010, 02:15:57 PM »
If any of you remember , 3 days before the nats my trans went out.  that another story why I had a brand new rebuilt 4 speed, and only lasted 30miles. >:D

any way . a buddy of mine let me use his from his 77 camaro.  so I could get to the nats.  well he needs it back now. and with the price of the st10 BW so high now. I don't no if one will go back in it.  I have a good th400 I was thinking about putting in it. I have all the parts to switch it over. all I need is a console.

guys talk me out of it.

also working on the window regulator . it turns hard like its bent or something. so I have another one to put in. plus found a crack in the top of the door frame.

I agree.  A five speed would be a nice upgrade.  Might be worth checking in to.

I found a S/T-10 at a old junk yard. a lot of them really.  ;D
I took my t-10 apart to really see the damage.  the input shaft was blued, barring gone, mane case shot from the baring spinning in the case

I took parts from one of the t-10's I just got. and ordered a new kit and put her back to new.  :)

I am using the same. I started with regular 80/90 and now have 75/90 syntec in my M-21. It definitely shifts smoother.

The 5 Speed would have been nice in there better gas mileage with the over drive. This is what I'm putting in mine got it from Keisler they run around 3200.00 for the direct fit kit. No mods needed to install. It has a .64 overdrive gear and with the 3:42 rear gears that will put me at 70MPH at 2200RPM

awww yes , that would be nice. but the key word,  3200.00
it will need to make its own gas for that kind of money.

plus it's a trans am , I dont care about gas mileage.  lol  as long as it gets me to the next gas pump is all I care about. ( in Pontiac Stile  8)  )
