O.K. I know its early, just wanted to get a rough idea of who's going and who might go. I am going this year for the first time. whoo hoo!!!
-

-

-
I'lll be there and the car is a 50/50
-
I plan on going, minus the TA. Brother in law is getting married around the same time and I have to be in the wedding :-X. I had such a good time last year, I'm doing everything I can to go this year :)
-
i got the days off from work, but have not made any reservation yet or sent in my pre entry form,so i am still 50/50.i really want to go,but need to see how the next few months go,and if work stays steady or not.
-
i'm in! just made my reservations so i'm locked in, i plan on driving the 80 down, hopefully no break downs on the way, see ya'll there
-
i know this is a stupid question... but where and when
-
theres no stupid questions on here, its august 28th-30th at the Marriott in Dayton, should be loads of fun!
-
i intend to go dont know if i will have a bird on my shoulder or not by that time. This all depends on time, ambition and money all of which im lacking currently due to this stupid basement remodel i got myself into.
-
I will be there of course.
-
I've been to the Nationals twice without a car (1999 and 2005 as I recall)...I'm currently planning on being there this year provided the '76 survives the Bandit Run 2009 with me, the price of gas doesn't go back into orbit, and Hammer's offer to buy me a beer still stands. ;D

So is there a link to the Marriott for group reservations? Group code TRMTRMA? I looked for a thread with the info but wasn't successful. Or do we just look them up online and tell them?

A beer of YOUR CHOICE.....you can even get the expensive stuff. LOL
Um, somehow I doubt you can get Lone Star on tap in Ohio... ;)
Is it safe to assume everyone is planning on stayin at the Marriott??
Tinman5
-
...everyone is planning on staying at the Marriott??
Sory, spel cheker ain't workin so gud.
-
what about the hiton? i need to flip a quarter and figure out if i may bring a car, and if not am i going down for just one day or the whole event. more than likely go down stay the night and leave the next afternoon.
-
what about the hiton? ...
Most are staying at the Marriott because that is where the TA Nats are being held (in the parking lot) this year and it is the host hotel.
-
After reading all these about NATs, i am seriously thinking now about going. Talked a while last night to ta collector, and am really thinking about it now. My old man, who normally doesnt understand my reasoning on cars and car stuff, actually thought it might be good. Just need to make my mind up quickly!
-
Thanks Hammer, i know mike too, i am from dubuque iowa area. depends on the day. We are actually getting together in February. He is a great guy, and loves his cars. My only perdicament is i can go antelope hunting this fall to, Dont know when and if going yet. So i am debating on what to do. And i dont know if i can get off work too. (dont have a job, but will have one after May) I know i would really enjoy it too!!!
-
;D ;D Big and little Tommy are in...hope we can get a room!

Mike's "tacollector" is a good man. His 79 TATA is a beautiful machine and took third place "I think" in last years T/A Nationals. Bill "Z1" and Mike drove in together last year to Dayton. Mike, tacollector, is an awesome guy that I am glad to know. But I think he lives way out near farm country Lakota, Iowa. I look forward to seeing him again this year.
If Mike plans to make this years T/A Nationals this year and he is asking if you want to go. Do it! You will not regret it.
This entire group of people, meaning Firebird onwers, are the nicest group of people I've ever meet.
Thanks Hammer, that is what i told Stephend, the people are great, awsome cars, what more could you want.
i hope i can make it this year also, now that i know a bunch of people and can meet more members i really want to go.
you are right i did score a third(still cant belive it) and everyone in Iowa live in farm country LOL
-
Well, it sure didn't take long for them to fill up. I just checked and it says there are no rooms available.
-
Yes, outside of the "Block of Rooms" set aside for the Nationals the hotel is booked. So if you use the code listed you can get rooms. I just called them and they still have rooms available for that weekend.
-
I just booked my room online for the weekend. ;)
-
i just booked my for the weekend.
-
Ok, gotcha. I looked again using the code and I have to say it's looking doubtful again this year. I don't think I can come up with that kind of money.
-
Thursday nite through Sunday nite- we're in.
-
damn my school and work...I can't go anyway, I'm under 18 and that makes the party very dull.
-
I'm locked in...28th-30th ;D
-
I hope I can lock in a room today or tomorrow, stupid hold up on refie on the house
-
I'm in, reservations all set, Friday through Monday! If I'm still employed with the current employer, it's vacation time. If I'm with a new employer, it's negotiated time! LOL!
-
I should be there again, I can't miss it, I think this year I'm going to have to rough it and sleap in the back seat of my truck and then just go to the creek to take a shower. ;D
-
I just booked, Thurs-Monday. Dropped a note over on TAC telling them no to wait on this to get a room. Last year, the 'fence sitters' were left scrambling around the beginnig of August when the host hotel filled up. I'm with pointman, negotiated time off before accepted the job.
-
The more and more i think about it, the more i want to go. Just filled out the regestration form. Waiting to send it in. Do i need to fill that out, or what do i need to do just to go? I dont think my car will be ready to show it. (although i am hopeing i have it done)
-
No, you dont need to fill that out, and IF you do take your car you can just register at the show.
-
I still can't believe they're going from an airport to a hotel parking lot in size.
-
Just booked a room at the Marriott, looking forward to it!

-

Technically, they were just in the hotel parking lot at the airport, not the entire airport. Attendance has been running around 430+/- cars. If it hadn't been for the big field to the side of the hotel parking lot they'd have run out of room long ago. The entire show field wasn't much larger than a typical Walmart parking lot.
-
Ok, I was under the impression that it had "spilled" out into part of the airport field. So the Marriott has enough parking for the show and spectators?
-
man i hope within the next 6 months i will be able to post on here too saying im coming....
-
I just booked I am in now.

Larry, this earlier thread with the discussion when the change to the Marriott first came up after last year's Nats, might help answer some of your questions. There's even an aerial photo of the Marriott and its parking lot as well as adjoining parking lots that may be used for the TA Nats.

My wife and I went to the Mariott last year to check it out ( I had already found out where the Nats were moving to before the announcement) >:D The back parking lot is huge. There looke dto be as much or more room there than at the airport. Granted, it is kinda hard to get to, especially pulling a trailer, but maybe the roadwork will be done before the Nats this year. You do have to go through the downtown area to get there. Not like the Drury where you exit and turn in. But you are right there at the show. And I think we can get the cars together to drive back through town to Tipp City, Smoky Bones, etc...
-
Well i am in! Will be crusing in the 80!!! Me and MacTA are headed down! Missed out last year and do not awant to miss the fun again! Heard some of the good stories and good times and was a blast driving down!!!!!
-
We are in...just made the reservations...MY DOGS ARE EVEN GOING ;D ;D ;D
-
We are in from the Carolina Gang 3 rooms booked!
-
i am up in the air i would like to go but i need to see when school starts and where my car is
-
A guy over on TAC booked his room at the Marriott last night. He asked, and was told by the booking person, there were only about 17-20 rooms left for that weekend.
-
my aunt and uncle lives down there so i will stay with them if i can go it is less expensive
-
I am planning on attending my first T/A Nats show this year, I have some family who live in Richmond, IN thats were I will stay.
-
Made my reservations online this morning. Confirmed Fri thru Mon.

Was about to make plans but just got the word that even thou I was called back to work recently I did so at a loss of more than 3 dollars on the hour... Not sure if I can even make my current requirements with what I lost in my hourly pay is greater than my child support obligation... going to have to look into the legal aspect before I can do anything... may have to sale some things to pull out of this one.... man I hate this economy
-
I hear ya there. 15k pay cut, my take home pay won't even take me home now. Hope things turn around or ANY car show this year is a dream.
-
As far as I know I will be there. There are no guarantees, however. Last year I said I was going but things came up where I wasn't able to go. I am hoping nothing happens this year. But just count me in anyway.
-
Not as much as you scare all of us!
Cool....bring the Wrench with you. Geeze that sounds like a mofia gang.....LOL....that is if his first name was Louie. hahaha....get it Louie the wrench. I scare myself sometimes.

Guess that depends on how much you had to drink.
-
Can i order a packet?
I believe you get a packet if you pay a registration fee ;)
-
I got mine yesterday. It's a reminder/advertisement packet to get you to register again for the Nats. This one is the 25th anniversary of the Nats and is dedicated to Jim Emmel.
-

They don't start processing the entries until around the end of June. You should have your information by mid-July.
-
Well i guess i'm in this year!! They cashed my check last friday!! ;D
-
I maybe going this year but I think I'm going hobo style Just going to sleep in the back seat of my truck or my trailer, cuz last year I did not spend that much time in the room anyways and I'm only coming down sat. am and out of there sun afternoon and I will just run down to the truck stop for a shower. ;D
-
I just reserved my rooms at the Dayton Marriott and depending on the weather determines if I'll have the car again for the 2nd year in a row.
