Valve Covers like or not??
« on: April 06, 2007, 05:50:06 PM »
Here is a picture of the freshly painted valve covers on the engine. I was bored so I thought I would give the engine bay a new look so I painted the Pontiac Trans Am in the valve covers what do you guys think, good or bad?????

Well the lettering is nice and clean so on that note I'd say good job , especially if thats painted in.  I'm still on the fence about if I like it or not though.

I think it looks ok. It was well done, with crisp clean lines and good centering.
I also think you will have questions especially from those not in the know or you will have people pretending to know all about the special edition Trans Am engine.  ;D

I like it except for the stencil font on the letters.  I might like it better in person.  From the pic the lettesr seem to tall and blocky for my personal taste but I do like the idea.

As far as the "job" goes. It is very clean and neat, but I dont think it flows with the rest of the lettering on the car. The letters look abit big to me, IMO.

Thanks everyone for your opinons it's nice to hear other people's view, I agree that the letters should of been the same font as the rest of the car. At the time I was just trying to get it evenly spaced   :o

I wasn't trying to do something outrageous, I was just bored and broke so I thought I would do something different that can be easily erased if I didn't like it. It's nothing a little paint can't fix   ;)

That's true, I'd try it again with a different font, maybe a little smaller lettering.  Try the font/size of the lettering on the side of the car where it says "Trans Am"
