Here are some pics of my 79 that is getting painted this week. Originally it was a firebird, now its a trans am, with a 301. Some modifications like taking the catalyic converter out and my dad fabricated a filler pipe in so its running sraight pipes, just a new muffler, Its in real good shape, and will be getting painted red.

WOW!!! I saw your previous post "Firebird 2 Trans Am." Your DAD must be a REAL sheet metal MAGICIAN, on the level of Chip Foose (I'd say).
You guys are doing a real good job on your project. I can't wait for more updates.

Now all you need to do is figure out how to put some rally gauges in place of those idiot lights. It would take some thought and some messing with the wires and some new senders, but that would make the interior look right.

yeah the firebird guages i dont like them at all, so we ripped a set of guages out of the other one we have and spray painted them black, and stuck them into the two empty spots, but maybe in the future when we re dye the interior the correct color we can get the guages straightened out and make it look right

the original is red, and the people before me dyed half white, and kept the other half red, so we were going to go all red, but its got leather/viynl whatever white seats and whitedoor panels that are in great shape so we dunno what to go

I wish my Firethorn dash looked that good. Sure would save me a lot of time and trouble. By the way... has anyone ever dealt with just dashes? I emailed them a week ago and still no answer?
