'76 TA w/455
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:13:52 AM »
Hey all. I posted some pics a while back of a resto me and a buddy of mine are doing on my 76TA. Here's a link of her starting the first time in almost 8 years.
The video does NO justice on how awesome/ballsy she sounds. Needless to say, I was like a giddy little school girl when I heard this car start and take her first breathe of life.

The goal was just get it hooked up and started. Now that's been done we'll start cleaning up the engine and putting the front end back together. By then the belts will be on. ;)

The Engine sounds STRONG!   But you may want to paint he engine the Correct color first.  You currently have the engine painted Corporate blue for 1977-1978.  The proper engine paint color for 1976 is Strato Metalic Blue.  It's like a dark blue/green color.

However, I realize the motor in the video may be different from the actual motor so I just thought you might like the information.   ;)

Sounding great man!  Awesome work.

I'm not going to worry about an engine paint color. If I had a plan of selling it one day then yes I would be concerned with it. However this car will never be sold.

No exhaust on it yet. That's the lovely sound of the Hedman headers. Have a Flowmaster kit that will eventually be put on it but that'll be the last thing I do.

That sounded really good, I have some turbo mufflers that somebody put on in the 90's and it sounds like a prius ;D
