Engine Back in Car
« on: March 28, 2009, 09:31:00 PM »
Tired and sore, but the motor and Transmission are back in the 77. Still have a lot to do and forgot how much work it is doing it alone. Well atleast my wife assisted me with the lift as I lined up the motor mounts.  :D   Perhaps tomorrow I can get the headers installed. BTW really had trouble with the lift wanting reach far enough into the engine bay. Finally dropped the motor from over the Drivers side fender. I really wanted to install the tranny on the motor, but was not able due to the reach of the engine lift.

looking good. Finding a lift that has a long enough reach without having to remove the front facia is hard to come by. I had to use one that was more indutrial rated than automotive. Expandable base legs and boom are the trick. Without this type of a lift the front facia and radiator support need to be removed for front removal/install

I think next time I remove the engine I will take the subframe and front clip out as well for some extra detailing. Plus in the long run I do not think it will take that much longer.
