79 Carmine Metal Dash SEM paint?
« on: May 01, 2016, 10:14:52 AM »
Been a while since I have been on here.  Not sure who is still around.  I'm getting ready to paint the metal section of the dash to match the carmine red dash.  Is the SEM paint ok to use on the metal portion of the dash with low luster clear? Since that portion will be most exposed to the sun, just wondering if it would be OK.

I believe it is a lacquer paint and would be OK, just wanted to be sure it will hold up to the sun. It will be shot over epoxy primer.

Thanks guys.
If you are going to do it wrong........you might as well do it RIGHT!

I used SEM on my metal dash portion. I did not have any bare metal so I just scuffed the surface then put a few light coats followed by 2 light coats of the low ouster clear. I did it when I had the windshield out. I have had no reflection issues and it matches the dash well.
