Topic: 1979 trans am wiring harnesses

i have a 1979 ta that originaly had a 403 and we are putting a 400 in it. we are going to buy a engion harness for a 400 but will it connect and work with a 403 dash bulk head and if it does work what changes will i have to make. it will also have a four speed, so what will have to change to make the dash harness work.

I put a 78 dash harness from a 400 on my 79 with a 400. The only change I needed was the dimmer switch needed an extension to the steering column.

I think all you should need is the neutral saftey switch jumper over to the clutch switch, and the back drive linkage for a 4 speed so your back up lights work along with your steering lock.
