Thanks,
It's definitely not one of those rides you ever feel small or overlooked in traffic. I drove it all through high school, and redid most of the interior, as well. I did all the body work and repainted it out in the backyard shop. I did a bit of cleaning up to the body, I got rid of the various emblems, body trim, hood ornament, and bumper guards. Finished it off with the blackened grills and cragars. I also found a gauge panel out of an earlier model newport and replaced all the woodgrain in the interior with a hurst gold scheme and tuff wheel. I'm still looking for a 140 cop speedometer. Suspension upgrades include a rear sway bar, trailer hitch, gas charged front/air shocks rear, and a front end rebuild. I added a quadrajet, trans cooler, headers, dynomax 2 1/2 dual exhaust, and some various other motivational goodies. Plans are now that the 440 and 727 will get a stout rebuild and then it will be finding its way up the road to Annapolis. Then, I've got something cool to trailer my various future projects. Oh, almost forgot to mention, I was digging through my dad's old parts bin and found a dealer installed CB radio from one of our old 78 TAs. So, it got that, one of my dad's old cop car spotlights, Stewart Warner instrumentation, and an Eclipse CD player/deck and speaker system. Sweet eh?
And, just for your viewing pleasure, here's a few more pics.
Anyways, just thought you guys would enjoy something a little different.
