I bought a NOS POA valve (ouch) for the A/C as my original was left exposed for many years and I know it’s full of dirt. The original A/C muffler cleaned up nicely but the replacement foam insulation tube was about an 1 ¼” to big. After cutting an 1 ¼” out I use black weatherstrip adhesive to hold the tube together. The replacement foam tube also came with a round foam disc end cap, but my original did not have a foam end cap, the question is should have and did the original foam end cap just fall off over time? Either way I think I’m going to using it as it’s not visible and it will help insulate the A/C
Thanks!
Pat

I also put the Trans Am decal on the spoiler

This is the whole reason I was never a big return it back to stock person.  You will spend more time trying to make something look half a$$ed like the factory did, then you would to actually make something look really nice.  Don't get me wrong Pat I love your car, but I really don't care if some clown is gonna give me crap about anything I did to make MY car nicer, or improve how IT looks and drives.  This is why I am not the show car type.  If I am going to spend the time and money to do a car, I am going to enjoy it and use it for what it was meant for.  I am not building the car to please other people.  Sorry for the rant.

Can't wait to see this thing all finished up.

Pat,

I went to the Nationals and see your A/C muffer was buffed to a nice shine.  I just want to make you aware that I've been cautioned when I did the same to mine and my A/C lines.  I was confronted by a Tech Staff Judge stating my car must retain the "stock" (dulled) appearance on the muffler and A/C lines.  They almost considered my "lightly polished lines" a modification.    I know you were thinking of going to the Nationals (I'd love to see your car there and I am certain your car will do very well there.  But they're really picky for "stock" components and appearance there and I just wanted to help with this reference.

Here are my almost modified A/C Lines due to polishing...

Mike,
Thanks for the heads up on the judges. I think the flash makes it look polished but all I used was bronze wool to in an attempt to save the original plating. I’ll wipe it down with a little muriatic-acid as that should tone it down.
Thank You!

PA Formula,
I’m with you going all original is a nightmare but I’m enjoying the challenge. No question my next car will a pro-touring car. I’m close to finding my high school 66 GTO.
Thanks!

I bumped all the dents & leveled the mounting holes in the original valve cover. I love to the look of the chrome valve cover but there not factory.  For someone who likes modified & custom cars it’s hard not to have a little chrome!
Pat

There are 4 of these metal bracket (2 at the front left & 2 at the rear right valve cover bolts, they are used to hold wire harness clips and I’m not sure if they are originally painted or not???
