so Im taking you liked the compilation of tunes to the video and the progression of the restoration. what took you 2.5 years to complete is astonishing Pat. I followed your thread religously ( like others anticipating the next post ) you are very tallented and to have you son take the time to be with you is a gift in itself.

After unsuccessfully trying to find NOS Unitized distributor parts to fix my original distributor I decided to gut the original electronic and install some updated ignition parts from Pertronix.
http://www.pertronix.com/support/default.aspx

I used a point’s distributor breaker plate as a guide to locate the Pertronix module on the vacuum advance plate on the Unitized distributor.

I disassemble both distributors hoping to use some of the parts from the point’s distributor but with no luck.

The mechanical advances under the rotor are the same on both distributors, so the magnet sleeve/ring fit prefect.

With a little modification to the original vacuum advance plate I was able to attach module and set the air gap at .0020 to the magnet sleeve/ring

I cut the wires off of the original unitized module and made the connection to the new module at the same location and with black heat shrink it looks original.

So from the outside it all looks original uses the unitized coil and wires and the tachometer works and the best part the car runs great!
