Anyone wanna help??? Radio question

Ya i got a 1978 pontiac trans am 400 and i cant get the radio out. its the originall radio the screen comes on but nothing plays if any one knows lemme know thanks..

there is generally a rear mounting bracket to the original radios (assuming you have already removed the ones on the front shafts). the bracket is secured to the bottom of the dash near the console on the passenger side. IIRC

I've pulled plenty of those brackets.  I know exactly where they are.  That's one of the first thing I check at the salvage yard.

ya i just found out its the y88 and its not in bad shape at all thats one thing i need to do though is get the radio out and im still have problems the radio feels as if theres just one little thing holdin it in still and i cant figure it out. i think it just need a new radio cable its my first t/a any help is appreciated thanks guys

DId you disconnect the antenna?, the three connectors in the rear? and the bracket on the side?  That's it from the back.  On the front it's just the bezel.  Those radios are huge.  You need to pull it out from the passenger side.  If I recall correctly, the A/C ducts need to come out to give you enough room.

Didn't the shafts bolt to the dash? Thought they did but I've been wrong before...
