Does anyone know if the grills can be restored? Gold 77SE

My 77 SE grills are peeling and the chrome is flaking off. It probably costs more than it's worth to get them fixed?

That's basically the issue, plastic chroming is very expensive, probably many times more than replacement units, and then you still have to repaint the rest again. Best to look for some that has decent chrome and no cracks or cough up for some new grills.

There you go....I had a quote locally a few years ago for a hood trim strip before I managed to get a good stainless piece, and they wanted closer to $500 from memory, horrific!! It wouldn't have worked anyway since it uses that door edge style flexible mylar clear coating with foil inside, was never a chromed plastic as grilles and such are.
