77 power harness is cut- need help
« on: July 30, 2014, 07:11:31 PM »
Hello all.  I am a complete Pontiac noob and hate electrical issues.  Not confident enough to try and hook up wires according to a diagram.  I've made a short video and posted it to youtube.  I'd greatly appreciate help getting this car up and running.

Thanks

Oops.  Changed settings-- Might take a few minutes to update settings though.  Sorry about that.

Ok let's break it down a little
Purple- starter
White - tach goes to distributor
Pink - power to distributor
Green - water coolant temp
Blue - oil pressure
Then you have three wires at the alternator
Brown - field wire
Red - power/batt
White I think - part of the connector the tie in you have looks like a factory one.
From there you have an ac harness that has various colors as well
Your green splice wire isn't factory....
Eroc
Fixing the car that Restore A Muscle Car jacked up....

Awesome- thanks-  I'll get on that over the next couple of days.  I'll make a video of it cranking when she fires up.

Thanks again.
