Title: Build Sheet for Gold SE found
Post by: Eagle 1 on May 30, 2006, 11:18:18 PM
Brett, check this out.
I found this build sheet in a Gold SE that I just picked up that confirms this car  was a  Y-88 SE Trans Am Gold ( its hard to read by the picture)
However, what I thought was interesting was the build date.  It appears this car was built 07-12 which would have been later than the date of the build sheet here in 6-24-78.

You're lucky... I tore my car all to pieces looking for the stupid piece of paper.    I've heard they can be on top of the gas tank or even in the back of the drivers seat???? Anyone else found one there???

After we pulled out the back seat top and set it on the ground, I pulled what was left of the carboard that goes between the trunk and back seat out looking for the thing.   Nothing.
Then I told my son who was helping me to look behind the back seat top, and there it was. :D

I have found them, uder the drivers seat, under the passenger seat, behind the rear seat tucked into the frame, behind the rear seat behind the cardboard separator for the trunk, under the carpet (only found one there) and on top of the gas tank.  Those have been the 6 spots that I have found them in.  Anyone else find their build sheet in any other location?

I found the build sheet in my 78 Formula recently on top of the fuel tank while undergoing a sender unit swap. The car had previously been resprayed and retrimmed so wasn't expecting any to still exist.
Sad part is it's barely legible and the fuel tank insulator strap runs through the middle, most engine details are missing. Is there any other way to confirm matching numbers minus this part?
On the up side I found out it was an origianl W50 option which was exciting for a few days!
