1970 Firebird Restoration
« on: April 28, 2014, 03:25:34 PM »
Ok I have finally made enough progress that I can start a post on my project.  I originally purchased this red formula thinking I would start with a mostly complete car that may need some repaint and details finished up.   Well I was wrong and my pocket book is paying for it.  After taking my new bird apart I found it needed new quarters,  floor pans, trunk floor, fenders, roof, rockers hinge pillars, cowls and so on.  So basically I paid alot of money for a new interior, rebuilt engine and tranny and  some nice wheels and tires.  not what I was wanting to find out.  But fortunately I was able to find a donor car that would yield me most of the original sheet metal I needed.

Looking great, man. I too, started out with a rough car, and have paid through the nose to finish a car that could've been crushed.

I've learned an expensive lesson but hoping to gain a nice car in the process. I've come to the realization that the only thing to do is try to enjoy the process. The 1970 is probably my favorite Trans Am; I'm looking forward to watching your progress.

Looks great!
Our engines look a lot alike!
I love the underside, and how clean everything is.
Awesome man.
