Dynomax Headers for a 403
« on: January 09, 2007, 11:46:29 AM »
I was wondering if anyone else here has ever tried to install the Dynomax headers for a 403 '78 Trans Am. I am trying to put mine on, but have run into a slight clearance problem on the passenger side. It seems the highest tube on the passenger side is contacting the plastic AC core box that sticks out of the firewall. I could grind the box down a bit, dent the header, or just remove the box completely as the ac is not hooked up anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions, or tried this before? The headers go on almost all the way, but I just can't get the back bolt in because its slightly out of line. Thanks for the help,

Levi

just remove the 1/2 towards the engine install the header and re install the a/c box section.....i think the majority of the olds headers are tight right there......

How old are the motor mounts? You could have a collapsed pass side mount letting the engine sit too far to the right.
