What size wire for the mig welder?
« on: October 29, 2009, 04:10:25 PM »
What's the ideal size wire for panel work on my baby she's had a reprieve from being sold and now I'm going for it myself.

Unfortunatly 2 camaro's and chevy van are shouting at me as well.

I tried to sell some of them but they told me not to.

I use .023 wire with a .025 tip but the .025 wire works well also
I use a gas mix called argoshield a 75/25 mix
I use a hobart handler 140 mig welder with gas

Hello Argonshield is co2/argon miz right? 0.23 is that guage? the smallest I could fine in the UK was 0.6mm is that the same?

I haven't bought my welder yet but looking at 30-200 amp one will 30amp be too powerful? I was assured that's the range I'm going for but I like to check.

Thanks Tutu
