my brother told me a story that he could have bought one 25+ years ago that needed complete resto
who knows then if it was the real deal as he didnt have access to information like we do now.
funny thing is, even in the 80's i believe it was still close to $20,000
He ended up buying a 69 Z28 off the guy for 1/2 the price of the TA convert.
Which turned out to be a real deal #'s matching.

that stinks he missed out on owning a car worth a ton of money.  but actually if you break it down, that car is really a 1 of 4 car because they made 4 autos and 4 manuals.

This sale should be fascinating, to say the least. I would hope that there's a ton of documantation to go with this one to make it legit. With soooo many 'tribute' cars out there, you can't be too careful. Switching gears here, I close frind of mine works with a guy who is the original owner on a '69 TA hardtop(of course) who still owns the car and other than the clutch, plugs, oil filter and carb-has a Holley now and yes, still has the correct Q-jet- and is considering selling the car. It has under 40K on it and just sits in the corner of his out-building- on flat tires. Has a Orsen E Coe Pontiac badge on the trunk lid-our local Pontiac dealer up until a few years ago.  I was tempted, yet he wants, like, retirement $$ for it and it needs everything, just to drive it...Not that I would....A Ram Air V motor in it would be awesome....This car would deserve a full nut and bolt resto, for sure.
