I thought that Red Catalina was as sharp as any car on the grounds.  It was really a nice piece of work.

The car count was down this year from the past couple of years, and the reasoning behind that was thought to be that they wanted to make this a 2 day show, and a lot of people only wanted to do a 1 day show.  After a vote on Saturday morning, this show was turned into a 1 day show, and if there is show next year, it will be 1 day with a "Show and Shine" on Sunday.  I suppose the cost of travelling nowadays may have had something to do with the lower car count.

Aw, shucks, guys, how did you know that was me? Not that I wanted to toot my own horn or anything... :D  Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the good words.  It was a great unveiling to say the least.  Kind of makes the last 58 weeks worth all of the trouble.  To sum it up:

1. Cost for driver and passenger to enter the show-$70.00

2. Motel room for two nights-$200.00

3. A 2 hour photo shoot for High Performance Pontiac Magazine on Sunday morning_ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!!

Thanks, Jeff.  I'm the third owner of this 77 SE, and I know the previous owners.  It's been a local car all of it's life.  I've had it since 1998.  It's numbers matching all the way, original drivetrain, lot's of original parts still on the car.  It just went through a 51 week restoration without leaving the shop, and it's been 58 weeks since we started.  We did no sheet metal replacement, just the necessary patching of rust spots where you would expect to find them on a 30 year old car.  Complete strip down to the extent that the body was left on the frame, everything else came off including the front clip.  L78 engine, Hurst 1st Edition T-tops (I still have nightmares about what a pain it was to work with those t-tops).  Restored completely to original, no added bells or whistles.  And the pictures just don't do the paint job justice.  It really has to be seen to be believed.

Thanks again for the good words.

Murdock.

Sorry Jeff, I usually take the low resolution pics when I think that I'll be posting on the net, as a lot of sites can't accept high resolution.  And I didn't get that many pics as I really didn't want to leave the car alone for any great length of time.  You never know.  I still wound up with some spots on the front of my car that I can't expain.  Luckily nothing that couldn't be detailed out.
