K&N Filter
«

When searching on the K&N Website it comes up with two filters. One for Ram Air and one with Ram Air. Are they talking about the Shaker? The one with Ram Air is not as tall. Anyway, here is a link to the site where I'm looking (
http://store.knfilters.com/search/appsearch.aspx
). I know some people have the filters, I'm wondering which one they got? It's for a '78 with a shaker.

When you're shopping air filters, you need to choose the "ram air" option.
For some reason this is what they consider the shaker assembly in most every filter catalog.
A
non-ram air filter
will be too tall.

How tall is the "ram air" filter? I have a 3", and the hood closes, but would be nice if it was even 1/2" shorter.....

The website says the K&N without ram air is 3.063 inches and with ram air is 2.563. So, that would be your 1/2 inch!
