FS: 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Y84 SE Bandit W72/ WS6

Up for sale is this 1979 Special Edition "Bandit" Trans AM. This is NOT a clone of a Special Edition but the real deal.
400 Pontiac, 4 speed w original hurst shifter,
with 400 / t tops/ 4 speed optioned SE car. Not a olds 403 car. Car is solid, no rot, floor boards are solid. Original paint and interior. WS6 suspension with rear disk brakes
and 15 x 8 snoflakes.
Car runs and drives, only needs paint and body work to finish.
Car has original clean hobnail cloth seats. Console car with Fisher T-tops.
I have been over this car and does not need to be restored to be a nice driver.
I have driven the car and it drives fine. This is a dream car but I have decided
to go to another project which is reason for selling. Car has power trunk, power locks
and windows original glass minus the windshield, rear glass defogger.
No cracks in the dash for a car that is 30 years old.
Car still has the WS6 15 x 8 wheels. There are three on the car, and the other is in the trunk spare.
What I know this car will need to be a dependable driver:

1. Brakes work but are spongy. Might need either pads or brakes bled.
2. Horn does not blow
3. Startor ring gear. The teeth are bad on the ring gear, and one side is severly bad
But I can start the car where you can hear the engine run.
4. The car has flow masters that are turned down at the axle. The pipes need to be ran
outside the car for the exhaust to be considered legal.

Car is located in Mesquite, Texas 75149

May consider trades or partial trades.

Asking $8,910

Why is there a 1981 fuel door on a '79? Its been hit in the left front end too, thats why the headlamp bezel is buckled and the bumper cover pushed in at the grill. Snowflakes look to be from 1978 ,one is a 7" flake. Any PHS documentation to verify its a real Y84?

Those are neat cars, no doubt.

It appears there is going to be some real effort in getting the body/panels/nose, etc...back to factory specs.

Q: What are the two aftermarket gauges mounted to the right of the steering column? I didn't see it listed in the ad unless I missed it - been known to happen.

I'm guessing the dates on the pictures are wrong.  The plates have a 10/09 expiration on them.

The car has not been hit. The car will need either a passenger skin or a passenger door. Skin is less than $200
and doors are a dime a dozen. The head lamp is buckled because the plastic tab behind the headlight is broke.
$3.00 fix tops. One is a 7" flake and the other 8" is in the trunk.

What makes you say? If I were redoing the car I may put a new nose on the car to save some effort. Easy fix.

There is a after market water temp guage hooked up.
The pics were taken yesterday not 6 years ago. Who really sets camara dates?

Why is there a 1981 fuel door on a '79?
I stand to be corrected on this issue. Thanks for the input and facts.

Why is there a 1981 fuel door on a '79?
If you will notice, most SE's will be missing this important detail. The door should have a gold bird.
The door is correct for the car.
Actually no it is not, the only year TA to get the fuel door bird was 1981. It is NOT an SE only detail.
Do you have any pictures under the hood?
